I can't believe I'm home. Everything seems exactly the same - and for a moment it seems like I only left yesterday. In fact, this very morning, I was in London until 11.00 a.m. Of course, it's been an unnaturally long day - extended by nine hours due to the timezone difference. But not a bad day. I had a comfortable business-class seat, and I whiled away ten hours watching a truly horrible movie, a documentary about Wimbledon in the 90s, and a couple of National Geographic specials. And the coffee kept flowing, so much so that when I was waiting for my baggage at Los Angeles International Airport (to transfer it to my San Francisco flight), I felt positively hyper with a caffein overdoze.

And now I'm home, in my snug apartment overlooking the bay. This is likely to be my last journal entry for at least several days. What's next? Whatever it is, it IS good to be home!
